Friends of St. Anthony’s welcomes new committee members
St. Anthony’s is pleased to announce the recent appointment of two new members to the Friends of St. Anthony’s Board of Directors for a three-year term of July 2010 to June 2013.
Tracy Berberich is an Attorney at Taylor Law Offices in Effingham, specializing in offering legal counsel in Municipal Law, Corporate Law, Collections, Civil Litigation and Real Estate Law. Berberich and partners of Taylor Law Offices have actively and financially supported the Friends of St. Anthony’s over the years. Attorney Chris Koester currently serves on the hospital’s Ethics Committee and Dale Wolff, Estate Planning Attorney at Taylor Law Offices, has been active in planned giving initiatives with the Friends of St. Anthony’s.
Berberich resides in Effingham and is an active member of the community. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Effingham County Bar Association. She also currently serves as the President of Sunrise Rotary and as a Unit 40 School District Mentor. Berberich previously served as a Board Member of the Effingham Chamber Young Professionals.
Todd Martin is the Vice President and co-owner of Martin’s IGA. Martin is a third-generation IGA retailer who grew up working in the family business, which his grandfather, Clyde Martin, opened in 1938. He joined the business full-time with his father and owner, Newlin Martin, in 1999. Newlin is a past Friends Board member and has been a strong supporter of St. Anthony’s for many years. Todd Martin has attended Sunrise at St. Anthony’s in the past, and was an active and grateful participant.
Martin and his wife Sonja reside in Effingham with their two daughters, Chloe and Olivia, and are active members of the community. He participates with the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce and is a member of Noon Rotary. He also volunteers his time at the Effingham Performance Center (Rosebud Theatre) and serves as an Advisory Board Member of the IGA Coca Cola Institute.
Berberich and Martin join a team of dedicated volunteers on the Friends Board of Directors. Tom Wright has been reappointed as Chairperson for the Friends for one year, and Jim Hecht has been appointed as Vice-Chairperson. Other Board members include Joan Brumleve, John Gapsis, M.D., Dick Hawickhorst, Jesse Heischmidt, Nancy Wolf, Dan Woods and Donna Zerrusen. JoBeth Geier serves as the Executive Director of the Friends.
After serving three terms, Chuck Deters has concluded his service on the Friends Board. Ken Vogt as well has concluded his term of service as a Board member. In addition, Tom Henderson has concluded his service on the Friends Board, having served seven years. St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital thanks all three gentlemen for their time and efforts serving the Friends Board.
The Friends of St. Anthony’s is a division of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis Foundation, Inc. The Friends of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital was established in 1985, to ensure the continuing growth, stability and future of healthcare in this region. The Friends provide an opportunity to make a financial investment in St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital and to share in the hospital's healing mission. Currently, the Friends of St. Anthony’s are raising funds for the hospital’s Center for Advanced Imaging through its Hope & Healing Capital Campaign.
