St. Anthony’s welcomes new pain management physician: Dr. Omid Ghalambor



Omid Ghalambor, M.D., who specializes in Pain Management, has joined the Medical Staff at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital as the Medical Director of Interventional Pain Management Services. Dr. Ghalambor received his medical degree from The Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Montpellier II Faculty of Medicine, Montpellier, France and Anesthesiology residency at John Stroger Hospital, Rush Medical School, Chicago, IL. Dr. Ghalambor also received his fellowship training in Pain Management at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston Massachusetts. Dr. Ghalambor joins St. Anthony’s as a member of the Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) Medical Group. The HSHS Medical Group is a network of clinical providers: physicians, nurses, medical professionals, multi-specialty groups, single specialty groups, solo practitioners and medical schools in Illinois and Wisconsin, working together as part of HSHS. HSHS Medical Group professionals support the Mission of HSHS, which is dedicated to compassionate, holistic health care that treats the whole person, in the spirit and tradition of the system’s founding Hospital Sisters of St. Francis. Dr. Ghalambor, his wife Claudie, and three children reside in Effingham. He looks forward to establishing and growing St. Anthony’s Center for Interventional Pain Management. Center for Interventional Pain Management St. Anthony’s Center for Interventional Pain Management is a hospital outpatient multidisciplinary pain management clinic that offers a full range of comprehensive pain management treatments. The Center’s staff are committed to the complete non-surgical and minimally invasive management of pain syndromes. The goal is to decrease a patient’s pain as well as to increase their daily activities and enhance the quality of their life. The Center for Interventional Pain Management will provide an evaluation, a diagnosis and treatment plan in which the patient is an active participant. The Center’s colleagues follow a philosophy to: • Devote necessary time to listen to patients. • Provide a caring approach to the management of each person’s pain. • Develop a personalized treatment plan for each patient based on their unique pain disease and their goals for their treatment. • Educate each patient about their condition, treatment, options and progress. • Ensure that all procedures required are performed with the patient’s comfort and safety the top priority. • Support referring health care providers in the care of their patients. Dr. Ghalambor believes in comprehensive, multidisciplinary pain management. He believes that best results are achieved after a balanced, individualized combination of medical therapy, interventions, physical therapy and if needed, alternative medicine. A physician’s referral is required to make an appointment with Dr. Ghalambor.
