Cardiovascular Services
Monday through Friday
8 a.m. to Noon
Noon to 4 p.m.
The volunteer will act as a greeter and information resource for patients, families, physicians, and hospital personnel. Provide light duties for the deparmtnet such as stocking supplies, patient escorting, serving nourishment and providing assistance to the Cardiovascular Services Department
Escort Service
Monday through Friday
9 a.m. to Noon
With the different treatments patients receive while at St. Anthony’s, they often need to be transported from their rooms to various departments. Escorters assist these patients by carefully transporting them by wheelchair to and from their treatments.
Gift Shop
Monday through Friday
9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday
12 noon to 4 p.m.
The Gift Shop is an important source of funds for Auxiliary donations to the hospital for various projects and equipment. Auxilians serve as cashiers and provide friendly customer service to visitors and patients.
The Healing Garden
Date and Time to be determined by department manager.
The Healing Garden at St. Anthony's will provide a spiritual soothing respite for our patients, visitors, and staff. Volunteers will assist the Plant Services department in the upkeep and maintanence of the garden.
Lobby Desk
Monday through Friday
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Greeting visitors to St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital is an important service, since it is often the first contact for many coming to the hospital. Auxilians give assistance by providing directions and answering questions, helping to make each visitor’s first impression a good one.
Mail Delivery
Monday through Saturday
8:30 a.m.
Everyone enjoys receiving mail and Auxilians help bring a smile to patient’s faces through this service. Volunteers sort and deliver patient mail, and sometimes assist with opening the mail for patients.
Mailings
Date and time to be determined by the department manager
Auxilians free up hospital staff for other duties as they stuff, label and sort the bulk materials for mailings. This service is scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Making Baby Caps
Done at home on your own time
The Auxiliary organization gives every newborn born at St. Anthony’s a homemade knitted or crocheted baby cap. Those who like to knit or crochet can do this at home during their spare time.
Meals-On-Wheels Assistance
Friday 8 to 10 a.m.
The volunteer ensures that each Meals-On-Wheels client has a completed menu for each day they need a meal. The volunteer assists in writing menus and tallies the amount of food that must be prepared to serve each day's meal.
Office Assistance
Date and time to be determined by the department manager
Various departments sometimes appreciate volunteers performing regular office work for them to allow them to perform their other duties. This service is scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Procedure Suites
Monday through Friday
8 a.m. to Noon
The volunteer will provide indirect patient care in the surgical setting. The volunteer will work closely with the department staff, charge nurse and manager of the department. Provide light duties for the department such as stocking supplies, patient escorting, serving nourishment and providing conversation with patients.
Registration
Monday through Friday
Two-hour shifts from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
As patients are admitted to the hospital, they are escorted to their room by a volunteer. This volunteer can help make an anxious time more comfortable by offering a friendly manner and a warm smile as they help them settle in for their stay.
Skilled Care Unit Activity Volunteer
Date and time to be determined by department manager
Interview by Skilled Care manager is required.
Frequently, activities are planned for the residents of St. Anthony’s Skilled Care Unit. Volunteers can help out by serving at these events in various capacities. This service is scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Special Events

Throughout the year, the hospital sponsors social events for employees and their families. Volunteers can help out by serving at these events in various capacities.
Surgery Waiting Room
Monday through Friday
7:30 a.m. to 12 Noon
12 Noon to 4 p.m.
Family members of surgery patients wait for word from the doctor on their loved one’s condition in the Surgery Waiting Room. Auxilians staff the reception desk in the waiting room, serving as the information center for the Surgery department to contact the family members.
