East Central Illinois Breast & Cervical Cancer Program

The Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP) offers free mammograms, breast exams, pelvic exams and Pap tests to women between the ages of 35 and 64 who cannot afford these important cancer screenings.  Funded cooperatively by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health, the program was created to provide breast and cervical cancer screening and referrals to low- income, uninsured women. Since the program was launched in Illinois in 1995, over 66,000 women have been screened for breast and cervical cancers.

Locally, the East Central Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program serves a 10-county area, including:  Coles, Clark, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Moultrie and Shelby counties.  This local program is the lead agency for St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital and area physicians who participate in the program.

To take advantage of this free screening and treatment program, women must meet the following guidelines:

  • Live in Illinois
  • Do not have insurance
  • 35 to 64 years old
  • Meet income guidelines (defined by IBCCP)
