Skilled Care Unit

Skilled Care Unit is located on fourth floor north and provides skilled care, physical, emotional, social, and other restorative services for residents.  Residents are assessed on admission and a plan of care is developed to meet the needs of the resident.  Other mechanisms to determine resident needs include patient satisfaction surveys and chart review.

The nursing staff, headed by a manager, utilize a team approach to the delivery of resident care.  Each shift has a charge nurse who is a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse.  The team is  comprised of additional numbers which may include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nurse assistants, and activity coordinator.  Staffing is adjusted according to resident volume and acuity and meets or exceeds minimal staffing standards as set by the Medicare Rules for Participation.  Day and even shifts also utilize a secretary.
