Nurse Staffing Levels

The Illinois Department of Public Health allows consumers to access staffing information upon request. This includes the number of registered professional nurses, licensed practical nurses and other nursing personnel assigned to each patient care unit on any given day, as well as the average daily census for that day.

St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital places great emphasis on staffing levels that are appropriate. To provide interested consumers with this information we will:

1. Request that the inquiry be made in writing. Each nursing unit will provide the consumer the request form.

2. Information will be available within two hours of the request for current hospital inpatients and within five days for past inpatients.

3. The information provided will include the current period's staff schedule without employee information and the units Staffing Plan with Average Daily Census. This information will be maintained on each unit and will be provided to the consumer by the charge nurse after the written request is submitted to the unit.

4. Questions regarding the staffing plan will be referred to the House Supervisor.
