Since 1875, St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital has been providing for the healthcare needs of the Effingham community and surrounding area. Three Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis from Germany began a healing ministry to serve the poor and the sick in a small rural Illinois community. The service of these three Sisters has grown to hundreds of highly skilled and caring healthcare professional meeting the healthcare needs of the region.
One thing has not changed: the tradition of caring established by the first Hospital Sisters is continued today at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital . St. Anthony's is committed to meeting the needs of all patients we serve. St. Anthony's staff will always carry on the Sisters' ministry of faith by sharing Christ's healing touch through our service to our families, friends and neighbors throughout the region. With our proud history giving us strength and God providing His wisdom and guidance, we strive forward in time to continue to serve the healthcare needs of the region with respect, care, competence and joy.
