Opportunities for Giving

The Friends of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital was established to ensure the continuing growth, stability and future of healthcare in this region.

The Friends provide an opportunity to make a financial investment in St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital and to share in the hospital's healing mission.

We invite you to participate with a contribution that can assist St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital to continue to meet the healthcare needs of all people in the community and surrounding area, regardless of ability to pay.

The Friends of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital is a division of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis, Inc.  The Hospital Sisters of St. Francis Foundation, Inc., is a nonprofit organization chartered in the State of Illinois and is exempt from income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.  Therefore, contributions to the Friends of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital qualify as charitable contributions to the fullest extent of current laws.

Donations to the hospital in the form of a check can be made out to "The Friends of St. Anthony's" and mailed to the following address:

Mother/Baby Home Care Program Endowment
The Mother/Baby Home Care program is an extension of the mother's hospital stay to help ease any concerns she may have once she has left the hospital. It is offered free of charge to all mothers and babies who come to the hospital. A registered nurse visits with the mother and baby shortly after they return home from the hospital.

The endowment program provides donors the opportunity to commit funds for the long-term operational needs of the Mother/Baby Home Care Program. These donated funds are invested with only the interest gained being spent to support the program.

Marguerita Jackson Estate Endowment
An endowment has been established in honor of the St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Donated funds are invested with only the interest gained being spent to support the hospital's projects and programs.

Commitment to Progress
Contributions to "Commitment to Progress" are used to assist St. Anthony's in improving facilities or purchasing state-of-the-art technology to provide the best possible care for our patients.

Christian Care
Christian Care is a part of St. Anthony's mission to provide healthcare to all people, regardless of ability to pay. Christian Care is not bad debt; it is truly the cost of providing healthcare to those who have the obligation and willingness to pay, but do not have the ability to pay.

Healthcare Scholarships
Contributions to healthcare scholarships assist high school graduates, returning college students and St. Anthony's employees to pursue or advance in a healthcare career.

Greatest Need
Contributions that are not specified for any certain program or service are used where the need is greatest at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital.

The Friends of St. Anthony's Donor Recognition Wall, located in the front lobby of the hospital, is a formal tribute to the many individuals, foundations, service organizations and businesses whose support has aided in the hospital's healing mission. All categories are based on cumulative donations for the donor who has given any amount. Click here to view the Donor Recognition Wall and the categories of the Friends of St. Anthony's.

Planned Gifts
Friends for Life recognizes supporters who have provided for the future of St. Anthony's through a planned gift. A planned gift allows a donor to make a gift that they may not have thought possible, while maximizing tax benefits. A planned gift provides the opportunity to not only assist the hospital now but also for many generations to come.

There is no minimum amount that is required to be included in the Friends for Life. Also, it is not necessary to disclose the percent or amount of the gift. Members of the Friends for Life are recognized on a separate panel located next to the Donor Recognition Wall.

Gift Arrangements
Planned giving options available to donors include:

  • Bequest in one's Will or Other Estate Plan Documents
  • Real Estate
  • Life Insurance
  • Marketable Securities (stocks, bonds, etc.)
  • Pooled Income Trust
  • Charitable Lead or Remainder Trusts
  • Individual Retirement Account

We would like to work with you and your financial advisors to be sure your gift allows you to assist St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital while providing maximum benefits to your estate.

Your gift to the Friends of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital makes you a vital member in our healthcare mission. Your generosity enables the hospital to expand and improve its capabilities and better serve you, your family and your friends.
